About Maurizio — Experienced PHP & Laravel Developer
I'm Maurizio, a full-stack developer specialising in PHP and Laravel, with more than 25 years of experience building, maintaining and modernising business software.
A developer who understands both new and existing systems
I've spent my career developing software that businesses rely on, from bespoke applications and APIs to e-commerce platforms and internal business systems.
That experience includes working with both modern frameworks and older PHP and Java applications, giving me a particular appreciation for the challenges involved in maintaining and evolving software that has been in production for years.
Today my primary focus is PHP and Laravel. I build new functionality, modernise legacy applications and provide ongoing development and maintenance for existing systems. I'm particularly interested in building long-term working relationships with businesses that need an experienced developer they can rely on as their application evolves.

A little about my experience
I've been working professionally in software development since 1999, initially across PHP and Java and subsequently focusing increasingly on PHP and Laravel.
Over that time I've worked on e-commerce platforms, APIs, content management systems, reporting and business applications, as well as cloud-based services and third-party integrations.
My recent work has included Laravel and Vue applications, multi-tenant systems, billing and reporting platforms, legacy application modernisation and AWS-based infrastructure.
